Greetings from hot and sunny Arizona! Happy February! I'm on vacation and so happy that I'm relaxing, doing some shopping as well as taking in the sights and visiting family.

A collection of photos here including my favourite statements necklaces at the moment, newest wedges and my new leather gloves with scalloped detailing.

Went on a 8 hour shopping excursion yesterday to various shopping districts and Last Chance which is Nordstrom clearance centre and got 2 pairs of pumps (Jessica Simpson black leather heels and bebe fuschia heels) for $30 each! Total steal. Also, got a silky top for $5.97 + 2 leather belts for $2.97. Seeing as how I would be paying over $100 for one pair of these shoes, I got great deals which is always good. I like the fact that I can wear summer clothes in February, it's pretty amazing. I'll be letting you know more of my adventures here so keep posted on the blog and THANK YOU for all the blog love, comments, you are awesome!

I've also been feeling internet deprived, but now that I have a computer here, I will be able to blog and tweet regularly so FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER for more updates!

Happy Sunday everyone! About to head over to Arizona in a few hours BUT decided to do an outfit post. Wearing my faux fur vest, DIY asymmetric skirt, sheer Topshop tank, diy cuff and slouchy beanie as seen in the previous post.

I'm packed and ready to go, quite excited to get away and take a breather. Also, excited to shop and show you what I got, even though I haven't left yet, ha!

Got my Jack Germain clutch in the mail Friday which is sha-weet! It's leather and made in NYC and the most gorgeous colour. Thanks again to VivaLuxury blog for the giveaway.

Happy Friday everyone! I've been living in my slouchy beanie this winter. It's a no fuss way to get out the door looking put together, while staying warm.

I also like bold, bright, vibrant lipsticks. I mentioned on twitter that I always have 4-5 lipsticks in my bag at any given time. Girls gotta have options right?!!

The above quote is something I live by. It's true, we do only live once so why not do the things we want to do now? Life is how you make it and since time is money, it's important to make good use of it.

Finished reading Kelly Cutrone's first book and I'm probably going to be reading a few more times. Such a great read, and inspiring as well! (hence the numerous quotes at the end of my posts...) Need to get her second one and read that baby asap.

I'm SO PUMPED about the Jason Wu for Target collection and even more excited that I'll be near a Target to hopefully snatch a piece. Going to AZ soon and am excited to get away and shop! Also, have you seen the "Shit Fashion Girls Say?" video parodies? They are beyonnndd hilarious. So good. You also need to check out the Harvard Sailing Team sketch comedy videos, I'll post them on my twitter.

HISTORY OF FASHION

I thought I'd do a different post today about, in which I would ask you.."What does fashion mean to you?" As a fashion blogger, I don't think I've really looked at the history of fashion and what as influenced me to be so passionate about it.

"Fashion and fashion trends mainly refers to anything which is popular in a culture at any given time. It is inclusive of areas such as; style of dress, cuisine, literature, art, architecture, fashion trends and many other popular factors. -What is Fashion.com"

To me, fashion means being about to freely express yourself through clothing, accessories, shoes etc. It's a creative way to let others know a little about yourself without even saying a word. Fashion allows myself to go as far as expressing my mood through what I wear whether it be a leather studded jacket or a flowy silk dress.

Fashion is not just about clothes, it's about the way your live your life and your attitude.

As an art lover, art has been a main influence on what I wear. I also find street style and the outfits everyday people wear the most inspiring.

There is so much history in fashion that I can't possibly blog about it in one post but I did come across a great site RANDOM HISTORY that focuses on clothing in different eras which have influenced fashion today. I find it very interesting to find elements of these historical designs come back in today's collections.

I also found, ERAS OF ELEGANCE to be very helpful distinguishing between the different eras of style. From Renaissance, Regency to Edwardian, it's interesting to see how style has changed and developed through the years.

I think that everyone cares about fashion even though some may not think so. We all think about what to wear everyday (although some put more thought into it than others!) but when it comes down to it, we have to wear clothes. I appreciate people who put thought into what they wear and their appearance. We only live once so why not live it up looking the best we can?

I wear what makes me happy and not necessarily what the latest trend is. Fashion is about what makes you happy. It's about feeling good on the inside and outside. It's a way to be creative and experiment, which is one of my favourite things about fashion.

SHOT OF OF PURE GOLD

I think it's about time I posted another outfit. I paired an old sequin dress with my trusty Danier leather jacket, slouchy beanie and Cynthia Rowley boots (untied of course).

I've been really attracted to all that glitters lately, whether it be metallics or sequins (and glitter when it comes to nail polish, although the above design was a spontaneous design sans sparkle).

I think it's really important to re-invent what you already have in your closet as opposed to buying everything new. That's why thrifting appeals to me so much, you are able to re-invent an old item into some new again in you own way.

I also featured my make-up look I wore on NYEve ( a little late I know!)

KIMBERLY OVITZ has caught my eye. Her Fall 2011 collection is actually the one that initially got me interested in her work. I will be posting that at a later date, but can we talk about how beautiful her Spring/Summer 2012 collection is?

The fact that it's so easy to wear, looks chic and is effortless makes it very wearable.

I like the simplicity of it, yet the versatility of the pieces leave you with endless ways to style each piece. The pops of colour are refreshing (which makes me crave for summer even more!) and bold.

I've broken into my new wedges and they are so comfy I could run marathons in them!

Oversized sweater= so comfy and currently my favourite piece in my wardrobe (well that and my silk Joe Fresh button up). My hardware, and my nail paint after a day because no matter how hard I try I always manage to chip my nail polish.

I CANNOT wait to go shopping in AZ! Let me know if there's any special places I should go to!

A few of my nail designs here, I'm slowly trying to create some intricate designs. For now, I'll stick to the basics (I kind of like the basics).

I came across Deborah Lippman nail polishes and the colours are perfection, especially the glittery ones! I'm such a sucker for glittery things as of late.

Also, I've been pulling my hair back in a un-done up-do. It's super quick and easy! I basically gather my hair in a low pony tail and randomly pin it into a low, messy chignon if you will. Don't think I'll be doing hair tutorials or anything, just saying!

Speaking of which, if anyone knows any good fashion/hair & beauty Youtube channels leave a comment below. There's already some I follow, but I like discovering new channels!

I came across this brilliant site called PRAY FOR PARIS and was automatically lusting after their tees. After all, I do appreciate a great t-shirt. They have simple, straight forward, yet chic designs. I think these tees would be paired great with sequins, leather or dressier looks. I seem to like that juxtaposition.

I found this metallic silver nail paint by Revlon called (fittingly) Metallic. It's PERFECTION! Who knew I had this gem lying around all this time?! Now that I've been into doing my nails, and am into anything metallic, I couldn't have found it at a better time. Yay to finding random treasures in your house!

I've also been leaving my shoes/boots undone (on purpose). I don't know what it is, I just like the look (and sometimes feel) of it. With this glorious weather we're having, it's not uncommon I'd try this and out and about.

One last thing, I'm obsessed over anything metal, simple and bold like these Kurt Geiger stunners. Yes please. Gorgeousness! Been listening to THIS SONG on repeat, so damn good.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas/holidays! It's safe to say Santa treated me well this year! I got some of these items from Boxing Day shopping (yes, I was one of those people!) and was quite pleased with the deals I snatched.

Aldo wedge boots, striped oversized jumper (the sales clerk always asks me if I'm aware I got a mens size or a ladies XL lol), sequin mini skirt, velvet leggings (SO comfy!), Joe Fresh silk button up, Joe Fresh champagne bow tie shirt, books n things from Chapters including Kelly Cutrone's "If You Have to Cry Go Outside", HBC fleece throw & tote bag.

Can't wait to style these items into outfits, but for now here's my mini haul.

Anyone got big plans for New Years?! Can't believe how fast this year has gone by but it's been a great year full of change. 2012 will also be a great one!!

This post is based on neutrals. Funny how I say that yet I'm wearing bold leopard print on leopard print. The colours are mostly earth tones, which is what I'm mainly referring to although prints can become somewhat of a neutral depending on how adventurous you are.

Wearing my leopard sheer kimono over a leopard tank w/black skinnies, chain grey suede booties & lipstick in "wine."

Also, I've been inspired by nail art tumblrs lately and although I'm not even close to getting those intricate designs down, I decided to get creative and try something new.

I'm not wearing the tan boots in my outfit post but I've had these for years and think they are great for a super casual look even though the heel is waaay too low for my liking.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas & is enjoying the holidays. Wishing I was on vacay right now but I can't complain. I'm one of those crazy people who braved the chaos & went Boxing Day shopping, it was a success! I had to make a Christmas post since I seemed to be in a crazy Christmas mood this season. Here we have random shots around ze house including centre pieces, part of the xmas tree w/the cutest Eiffel tower ornament which reminds me of Paris (and makes me want to go back!), our lovely wreath & more decor. We have a gold theme w/some red and silver accents.

Late night post here about shoes of course! Came across Michael Antonio shoes in a magazine today and was pleasantly surprised as I browsed the site.

These shoes caught my eye because of how bold they are. Plus, the wedges are pretty amazing. The snake skin wedges are probably my favourite but would take them all!

Speaking of shoes, I am tempted to do the glitter heel DIY I've been seeing everywhere. It looks so easy, and you know how much I appreciate a good DIY. I may just have to.

Hello hello!! As Christmas inches closer and closer, I felt the need to wear something red and I almost NEVER wear red. Not that I don't like the colour (I actually need to make an effort to buy more red items), I just don't own many red articles of clothing. Anyway...this silk red camisole has been sitting in my closet all year.

Wearing a pop of colour really makes things better. Along with my red cami, is black skinnies, my vintage faux fur coat, turband, baubles & bracelets, burgundy nails, my mini faux croc bag AND my F21 cut out shoes.

So is everyone done Christmas shopping?! I thought I was done but realize I now have to get a few more items. I have a list of items that I need/want for after Xmas sales (yeah that's right.) Anyone going to brave the madness and go Boxing Day shopping?!

Get used to seeing this slouchy beanie because it's so comfy/warm/chic/goes with everything and I wear it a lot. I really like how the light was perfect for these photos, it's as if I was in an empty room. Isn't that YSL piece a beaute?

I decided to go through my closet and look what I found, an old sequin dress from ages ago I paired with my Danier leather jacket over the shoulders of course. What I'm currently looking for is a mini all over sequin dress long sleeves with a plunging back. Got any suggestions on where I could find it? I think it would be perfect for the holidays or everyday!

Hello lovelies! A sneak peak here of my outfit featuring my DIY asymmetrical skirt. You will see the full post soon. Since I so badly want ankle cuffs I decided to try and make do (for now) with my actual arm cuffs.

I'm been obsessing over the colour burgundy lately. My make up, lipstick and nails all represent this as of late. I decided to add glitter to my nails last minute, makes for a more festive look! One day I hope to do some fancy, intricate crazy designs , but for now I'll lust over them. Also, I'm going ba-nanas over this beauty (2nd photo) that is a Citrine piece.

Canadian born designer Thomas Tait's designs caught my eye due to the modern feel of his collections. Recently, I've been exploring the simplistic ways of fashion and how one simple piece of clothing can make such a statement, case in point, Thomas Tait's collections.

The second photo is from his SS 2012 collection, it's breathtaking! Very refreshing.

Hello loves! So now that it's December (and I'm so happy that it is!), I'm in the Christmas spirit, so why not share with you my wish list!

Top to bottom L to R: Alexander Wang Liu heels, Zara shopper tote, I know this is a men's shirt from the Versace for H&M collection but of course I would want a piece from the men's collection. Not only am I obsessed about the pink suit, but this shirt just caught my eye and the design is just genius!, cuff necklace, Hudson's Bay Company book, and Zara 2 toned jacket. So feel free to get me any of these items! haha

Regarding the Hudson's Bay Company book, if your Canadian you already know all about The Bay, but if your not, The Bay is a Canadian department store which I shop at A LOT. They carry the most amazing brands/collections including many designer collections. Actually, along with the book I'd also want a point blanket or jacket BUT there will be a HBC post soon! Anyway, if your ever in Canada make sure you stop by and shop at The Bay.

So, I know I showed you photos of my summer shoe collection not too long ago, and here's my fall/winter go to boot collection so far. From top to bottom: these grey suede booties caught my eye right away because of the awesome chain detail, these ones are more classic, but the leopard print lining and red soles sold me (these 2 I got in the Philippines last year), and my everyday boots, my Cynthia Rowley leather boots which are SO comfortable I could run laps in these babies. I'm on the hunt for mile high wedges soon but figure I'll probably wait until Boxing Day madness.

I've mentioned on twitter I (of course) misplaced my camera charger BUT that won't stop me from posting outfit posts. So stay tuned!!

Btw, now that it's basically December, I'm in a crazy Christmas mood. Anyone with me?!

Hello lovelies! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend, even though it's coming to an end. I went to the NIGHTBOX show last week and it was AMAZING! If you haven't checked them out yet, do it now! You won't regret it, promise. Anyway, here are a few photos from the show (there will be more!) plus, I got to meet them, they are super nice guys!

Also, there's some cosmic inspiration included in this post since I'm STILL craving Christopher Kane cosmic prints, my DIY collar + red lipstick when all else fails AND cuffs I saw on weheartit.com, minimal yet chic=the way I like it.

DIY// ASYMMETRIC MAXI SKIRT

You will need: max skirt, scissors, pencil, iron, need & thread or sewing machine

Step 1: Lay the skirt out and draw a curved line where you would like the shortest part of the skirt to be. Fold the skirt vertically in half and continue drawing so it forms a slight v shape (see below)

Step 2: Iron the fold and sew, so to make a clean edge.

Voila! Your done! It was a challenge to sew the curved edges but with enough patience it can be done. This skirt was $12 on sale and I thought it had so much potential to be something much more interesting. My inspiration was an asymmetric skirt I saw at Zara, but probably less than half the price!

Hello!! The long awaited outfit post has finally arrived! I gave you a sneak peak a few posts ago and heres the full look. Wearing of course leatherette shorts I live in, Material Girl ripped sweater on top of my sheer Moon blouse with Rimmel red lipstick. I went out to see artist Lani Maestro's In Her Rain exhibit this night a few weeks ago, which by the way was amazing and so minimalist!

Hope everyone is having a great start to their week, SO HAPPY I have the day off today I really needed the time to re-charge. Things have been kind of hectic lately and for the most part it's going well, but I've really been thinking that it's time for a change. Basically, when it comes down to it, do what you love no matter what because the last thing you want is to wonder what if?...

The next few weeks are going to be super busy but I promise posts galore! Nothing gets in the way of my blog and I'm feeling the blog love so THANK YOU to all my new followers & the lovely comments, it makes my day!

One more thing, I went to the Lights concert just to see Nightbox which was AMAZING! I actually got to meet the band (I'll post the concert photos soon!) and they are such nice guys! Anyway, give them a listen, you won't regret it!

Bonjour lovelies! How AMAZING is VICE AND VANITY jewelry and accessories?!! Dying over them right now.

What I like about the pieces is that they are different! They have a modern, intricate feel to them and they make a statement. I could see my self wearing one of their pieces with a plain tee and I'd be good to go! Also, obsessing over these Alex clutch bags in tan and black, need need need!! They have TONS more designs so I encourage you to check out their site, this probably won't be the last post I have about them.

Hello everyone! Thought I'd throw another post your way!

From top to bottom: layering with sweaters and button up tops (which seems to be my uniform as of late), Maison Martin Margiela Untitled fragrance, I really like the minimalist look of the bottle, my brand new metal neck cuff from Aldo (crazy about this piece), and my

braided fuschia headband also from Aldo,which come to think of it, kind of matches my lipstick (even though it's showing more fuschia than purple in this photo).

SO glad this week is almost over! The temperature is dropping here but I still wear my suede platforms out. I suppose I should look for "winter" boots..sigh.. Suggestions on where I should look?

HARD TO CONTROL WHEN IT BEGINS

Hello everyone in the blogosphere! Hope everyone is doing great. What a whirwind of a day!

I wore this outfit to an art opening a few weeks ago. Yes, that's some temporary dip dye action your looking at, which I did with a genius product, Kevin Murphy's Colour Bug (in purple). Wearing my leatherette shorts I've had for ages and could not live without, Moon sheer button up, asymmetric marled sweater & my DIY collar, Rimmel red lipstick (of course) and coiled ring from Chictopia & Lulus.com.

Semi funny thing is, I managed to destroy these brand new sheer tights with another one of my crazy rings I have that snagged right through them. This always happens to me. If I could just keep a pair of sheer tights for more than a few days, it would be a miracle!

I just did a DIY asymmetrical skirt which turned out (thankfully) and will post soon.

I think I'm beginning to have a bit of a shoe/boot obsession. Once fall comes around, I am all about boots!! Kurt Geiger makes amazing footwear that is wearable and ultra chic. These three styles caught my eye, the Vanessa and Viola (isn't that red colour just crazy?!!)

I've also been wearing my jacket over the shoulders for a different look. You may not be able to see it well in this black and white photo but I've paired it with a loose sequin top for a contrast, because it's all about the contrast! I'm all about wearing a casual look with bold, fancy jewelry or a pair of killer heels.

A great quote I say on weheartit, goes to show that everyday is a new day and it's never too late to do what you want to do!

Hello lovelies! If you've been following my blog this past summer, you'll know I scored this amazing suede jacket in this lovely butter colour at Danier Leather for $50, yes you read this right, $50! Talk about a steal. I find that shopping out of season is quite smart since most items are on sale for crazy prices. I finally wore it and like how fitted it is, the style & structure of it, and the fact that it's not black! Wearing it with a grey, layered flowy top, Revlon lipstick in Smoked Peach & black skinny jeans.

I've also just added 2 turbands and a sweet metal necklace to my accessory collection, but haven't really been shopping all too much. I think I'll probably just wait until Christmas time and all the sales that come with. I'll probably be on the hunt for boots soon, but for now, I'll get creative with what I already have. Been a crazy week at work, but I'm glad for the day off tmrw. Don't forget to take a moment to remember, on Remembrance Day.

Woke up today only to find snow on the ground...not the biggest fan of snow but hey it makes it more Christmas-y out & this year I think I'm going to be one of those people who are crazy into Christmas. I went shopping...in my mom's closet. Found some epic sweaters just in time for the fall chill and that I can wear casually. Been watching French movies galore (if you follow me o twitter you know I'm studying French) and they are fab! Le Petit Nicolas is super cute and one I recommend. Been listening to THIS SONG a lot. My newest addition to my wardrobe is this marled, asymmetrical sweater that seems to slowly be unravelling at the seams (anyone know good tips for snags?), but hey I still like it a lot! Worn with a black skirt that I've had for AGES, suede platforms I live in, my teeny metallic "purse" that cost me $1 again ages ago. Keeping it pretty simple. I REALLY am into asymmetrical cut anything these days & may do a DIY soon. Also, I could use a pair of mirrored sunnies, I would attempt a DIY on that but dont' know what to use as a reflective surface other than actual mirrors..and that may just end up in disaster!

Like I've said, I still have a bunch of posts...to post that I've taken weeks ago so get ready for outfit post overload! (well, sort of) Hope you all had your candy fix!

HAIR RIGHT, SHOES TIGHT

This is my early Halloween post, hence the mask! Last year I was a Goth girl and I must say, I really like the goth look (check my archives for my "Goth Chic" halloween post. I thought it was about time I post my new hairstyle...I got bangs, did a little purple dip dye action. I actually got this super cool product by Kevin Murphy called Color Bug, it's great for people who want colour in their hair but have ever changing looks. See that sweater I'm wearing in the first picture? Well, my next few outfit posts features it and you will see the different ways I've styled it. I like to see the different ways people style one item as opposed to always having new items. Went to an art opening last night, great exhibit by Lani Maestro and it was great to be in such an artsy fartsy crowd!

First things first, I've mentioned on twitter I got bangs, and was thinking of experimenting with colours. These photos were taken pre hair cut, I'll let you know when I post ones with my "new hair" but I do have a bunch of posts yet to post pre cut.

Here are some fall photos. These two were taken at a part in early October wearing a casual outfit. I thought these JC Detention boots would be perfecto for fall as well! I usually don't like 2 toned shoes, but these I'll take! THIS SONG pretty much sums up this post. Been wanting a change lately and I'm the type of person who always like a change aka I get bored easily. Plus, life is too short to stick with the same old. There are great temporary hair dyes that are super easy to apply to add colour to your hair. Thinking of doing something...I'll post it when I do. I've aced the four strand braid and will also post that, I really like trying different hairstyles, again, great to change things up! Oh! and since Halloween is just around the corner, I find the halloween section is the jackpot when it comes to getting crazy with fashion. I'm thinking, why don't they have these products year round?!!

Happy Weekend everyone! This is what I'd wear (sometimes) to the grocery store! My oversized plaid top (super warm) from the F21 men's dept (never disappoints), skinny dark denim and my BCBG tank, & Joe Fresh style lipstick. It's getting chillier out and since I'm trying my hardest to continue to wear sandals (at times with socks) and no jacket, I've been layering and I like it! But come to think of it, I can't wait to wear my faux fur.

Blogging has brought so much more than I ever expected. All I want to do is continue to share my personal style/DIY's and interesting fashion related (or not) topics with you, it's SO CRAZY that I've been blogging for over a year, and have gotten to know so many talented, stylish bloggers worldwide! Craziness I tell ya! I remember how my blog used to look like when I just started, and how much it's changed. My DIY Collar accessory post made it into IFB's Links a la Mode for Oct.20/11 which I'm super excited about, check the links out HERE! Basically I just want to say I'm flattered with the emails I receive and comments from every single person who takes the time to leave one, and all those who view my blog/my loyal followers. Lately, I'm really into metallics. Seriously this close to buying metallic pants...but anyway from top to bottom: I've had these metallic sandals/pumps for a few years and have been wearing them a lot lately. Pretty comfortable, and pretty slippery on the shiny tile flooring at my work, almost wiped out a few times, but I still wear them. (and yes I know about those grips you can buy!) Then we have a tailored Olsenboye blazer I've had for a few years but have never worn out, yet! I'm also into masculine details. Jeffrey Campbell Trouble shoes, yes please. Also, note that my toenails are in Revlon's Gold Coin metallic nail polish.

I caught part of Oprah's Lifeclass episode yesterday on Ralph Lauren and needless to say, it was very inspiring. It's all about what YOU believe about yourself that gets you to where you ultimately want to be. So, hold on to your beliefs and don't be distracted by what may come in your way.

It's sheer and super light and comfy, some people may mistaken it for something from the lingerie dept but hey! I like it, therefore I wear it. Happy Saturday/weekend everyone! I start my French classes today (whoop! whoop!) that's why I'm up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday! But I'm glad I am, it's going to be a good day/weekend/next week will be good too... I've expressed this on my twitter page, but I NEED THESE Cheap Monday Monolit boots! Aren't they a beaute?!! The ones in red are especially a-mazing so if anyone wants to buy me these babies, feel free! (jk..not really...) Also, got this Vamp It Up lipstick last weekend and am addicted, its a dark purple. My wrists have been feeling a bit naked lately, this ACNE leather cuff would be a great accessory.

I said I was going to do a music post (on twitter), so here it is! I decided to narrow it down to a few bands I have on rotation which are from top to bottom THE NAKED AND FAMOUS, NIGHTBOX, and FOSTER THE PEOPLE. If you haven't heard of these bands, you MUST CHECK THEM OUT NOW!! (and maybe your living under a rock? lol) When I first listened to Young Blood by The Naked and Famous, I was hooked, not to mention the video is one of my ultimate faves! Nightbox has really catchy tunes which are easy to listen to and super addicting! I REALLY want to see them live. I'm sure you've all had Pumped Up Kicks stuck in our head, because I sure have, but I really like Helena Beat by Foster the people. As I said, these aren't the only bands/artists I'm listening to as of late. When I came across these HellRaisers by UNIF CLOTHING, I was like..those are epic! These shoes are great (for everyday) or to wear to a concert! As I said, I listen to a wide variety, of music and enjoy finding out about new bands so please let me know what your listening to in the comments below!

Now that TopShop has officially arrived in Canada, I couldn't help browse their site (yet again) for more goodies such as the ones above! First of all metallic heels!! Need I say more?! Also really thought these velvet booties would be great for fall, same with this ruksak and matte bracelet. Kind of going back to basics here with this look. Into bold brows and bright lips lately & a more simple approach. But don't get me wrong, I still like my accessories/jewelry! It's getting too cold to wear shorts (insert sad face), but that's when tights come in, speaking of which, I need to stock up on sheer black tights, since I always seem to get a rip, run or snag in them.

As you may (or may not) know, Alexander Wang is one of my favourite designers. His simple yet edgy designs really appeal to me. Case in point, these amazing Wang boots which I believe would be perfect for fall. Also, wearing my DIY collar I made (see below & scroll around my blog for more DIY's!) with a simple v-neck Joe Fresh style pullover I bought last year. Joe Fresh has such chic pieces, that are extremely affordable and cater to wide audience that never fails to exude a touch of class. I can't rave about it enough! A trip to the store never leaves me empty handed, which reminds, me I need to stop by soon. Also, wearing my tortoise shell sunglasses from Lulus.com (which I currently wear everywhere!)

Took this photo of these pretty orchids in my house probably last month and thought it was a pretty addition to this post. Lusting after this perfect ASOS metallic clutch and these Reed Krakoff sandals. Been listening to some songs off the new Coldplay album which will be out next month. How's your weekend going? Anyone of my lovely followers attend Nuit Blanche where you live? I did and it was fun times. I always enjoy a good arty party, in which I scored a free French Hip Hop cd from a cardboard box full of unwanted tunes, seeing drag queens & making pom poms out of plastic bags in prep for a flash mob. I also saw the collection by artist William Kurelek plus other cool exhibits. Was a great "no sleep just art" kind of night. I would love to attend Nuit Blanche in other cities (which I won't list since it's too long). Anyway let me know how it went!

Currently listening to Major Minus off the new Coldplay album (which I expressed my liking for in the previous post). SO GOOD! Sporting the all denim look here. DIY cut offs I've probably worn a million times (not literally) this summer and my oversized shirt I managed to tuck in and make look semi neat. Also, my DIY cuff & blue clutch. Hope your all having a great week! It feels like an Indian summer and I'm loving every minute of it. As long as I can wear sandals, I'm happy.

So excited for Nuit Blanche the arts event this weekend, going to taking in all the festivities and enjoy the NO SLEEP, ALL ART weekend of fun! I think it's so important for people to support the arts. GLORY DAYS

An outfit I wore last week that consists of my favourite thing ever....sheer! There's just something about it that is so chic and versatile. I also wore these nerd specs I got at a local boutique years ago (I should wear them more often, and yes wearing glasses does make you feel smarter!) The first day of fall was yesterday and although I do see people breaking out the fall fashions in full force, I will do that probably when all the trees turn golden and it gets a bit colder (cringe). Right now, I'm enjoying still wearing semi-summery attire and enjoying this lovely weather! It's all about feeling good in what you wear and wearing what you like/breaking rules in fashion (yes that means wearing white after Labour Day). Yesterday, I actually wore white & acid wash ( you'd already know if you follow me on twitter) so there!!

DIY/ COLLAR ACCESSORY

What you'll need: shirt w/collar, scissors, thread & a button.

Step1 : Cut the collar off the shirt leaving approx. 2 inches

Step 2: Sew the raw edge inwards to create a clean look

Step 3: Measure around you neck and sew on the button (make sure it's not visible) and a corresponding button hole. Sew around it to make sure it's secure and that it won't fray

Optional: Accessorize w/studs, patterns or whatever you like!

Voila! I've been obsessed w/the Eleven Objects collars so I decided to make my own. I really like the result. I suggest getting a larger collar since it's such a great statement. Also, make sure the collar is stiff and not flimsy (because that would just look messy). This is a super easy DIY and costs me $3.50 to make! Sport this collar w/anything and everything for an instant fashion forward look. A random collection of photos for you here. New F21 necklace, I've been lately going for more simple, streamlined designs such as my latest purchase, also, my faux croc clutch I've had for a few years now but lately have been sporting since clutches are my obsession. Even though it's been (crazy) windy & rainy I don't think it's THAT bad. I try not to be that person who complains about the weather, all I know is that I try to embrace what I've got and everything in life, since life is too short. So yay for rain, it's so pretty & refreshing, no, not the most convenient at times, but still somewhat enjoyable. Having said that, anyone know of a place to get clear raincoats and clear umbrellas?!! I usually don't post now, but I try to change it up and break the routine so hooray for spontaneous blog posts! They'll be more of these to come. Also, I'm glad you like my new blog banner by Abi Heyneke, I think it's pretty sweet.

I'm sure you've noticed that I have a brand new blog banner from the talented ABI HEYNEKE. I won a contest by City Kids blog and the prize was a banner by London based illustrator Abi, who designed my new blog banner which I am obsessed about. The first photo I have on this post was the illustration which I was inspired by and got the idea for the design of the new blog banner. Hope everyone is having a great Saturday! I don't know what it is but I am crazy over clear framed glasses like these ones from Madewell. I picked up myself a pair of sunnies this summer and (of course) managed to break them, BUT fixed them. I think it's the simple yet modern touch they have about them. Also, tempted to do a denim jacket DIY w/leather or knit sleeves. I saw a jacket like this Alexander Wang one at Danier for $70 and thought pfft I could make that for less, but will I is the question? (I want to..once I find time?) Came across this wonderful bag at J.Crew that would beautifully fit all my (somewhat unnecessary) belongings, yet still look polished. On that note, I will be doing my DIY collar accessory today and post in on the blog sometime soon so stay tuned for that. What are you lusting after?

Ahoy!! Okay, so I've had this hat for a while, but it's actually for Halloween ha! This is the new black velvet dress I recently got from Lulus and I thought hey why not pair with this redic hat!? Of course I wouldn't actually wear this outfit out (seriously, but maybe for fun?) with the hat but it is fun to wear! Layered some chunky bracelets and put on some red lipstick.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far, it feels like the temperature has dropped drastically. Literally went from +32 to +14 in one day. I'm not used to sweaters and wearing pants lol. But winter will eventually be here & I'm actually excited for Christmas. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here, fall is quite refreshing and I just realized this is the first September I'm not in school. Feels good being done, but kind of weird. So many things I need to do but am currently figuring things out, way to be vague I know.

I randomly took these photos one day, so here's a glimpse of where yours truly blogs, sleeps and reads fashion magazines haha. Well, it's parts of my room. I wouldn't want to give it all away now..lol I'm such a tease! I've lately took away all the clutter (even though it's freakishly neat) and am going for more of a minimalist look. The Dior & Chanel photos are the first things you see upon entering the boudoir, and the first thing I see when I wake up/go to sleep. Yes, I really do live and breathe fashion, they inspire me daily. I think these kinds of posts would be so cool to see, (kind of like the "whats in my bag" posts) it would be neat to see fellow bloggers' rooms and where they get inspiration. I can't believe I cut my acid wash jeans to make these shorts! Actually I can...but they turned out to be too short at the back, ha! Well, if I'm feeling risque I'll wear them out, I'm sure I will somewhere...someday with tights?! Anyway, paired w/my trusty varsity jacket even though I'm done school when everyone is going back! But you can never be too educated so and there's always something new to learn, and I'm all about learning new things!! The tank under has a bunch of random letters on it and was from AZ a few years ago. Red lipstick, red leather notebook from Danier. (addicted to leather bound notebooks btw) I think the jacket would look great with something super dressy like sequins to create a great juxtaposition, you know I'll do it, and you'll see it on here.
I also have Vanessa Carlton on repeat, this song is beautiful, I feel like I can relate to a lot of her music. Ciao! Zara always has such chic, versatile pieces. I'm really into simple basics/classic pieces but adding more interest with bright pops of colours, patterns and textures. I need blazers galore and button-up blouses as well (preferably sheer). I'm also feeling the burgundy shade this fall, theres something warm and rich about it, and it reminds me of wine (even though I loathe red wine) but nevertheless, wine. I'm talking fall here, but it's still summer, speak of which, I've got Foster The People's "Pumped up Kicks" on repeat. It's just one of those super catchy songs! Been reading non-stop these days, and it feels great! Especially when the books are good. Any book recommendations? (Like I don't already have a to read list, but thought I'd ask!) Have a good one! I believe this outfit was taken last week when I came home after a long day at work, as you may or may not know, my goal for the summer was to wear everything in my closet, and I think I've almost accomplished that (it may be September but technically it's STILL summer!). Also, I've FINALLY started to read a new book called "The Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing", it's an easy, cute read but does make one ponder. I really like the poems/quotes in the book. Upon reading, I came across this quote "When you define something, you limit it" (p.35) To me, I like when things are defined (for the most part), and I'm not talking bone structure here. I really can't stand the murky, vague, unclear ways some people have and appreciate when it people are direct and to the point. It saves everyone time, plus life is just too short be "undefined." Do you believe this quote?

Anyway, I have 2 more books lined up, actually 3..or 4. I also watched "Midnight In Paris" today and it was so dreamy. Who knew I'd actually like Owen Wilson in a film? I think the writer/artists references and the fact that it was in Paris had something to do with it, but it's inspired me to do so much more. No, it's not Valentine's Day..I just felt like wearing something summery and decided to colour block and mix textures (silk top, cut off pink denim). It's also my take on being indenial that fall is on it's way which means cooler temperatures and wearing socks..nooooo!!!! I'm enjoying every bit of it while it lasts even though I've been seeing people in sweaters (what's up with that? They would be in shorts if it was spring!) So happy to have received my "I felt like a fight, alright" book in the mail from STREET & CITY PHOTOS blog, all the way from New Zealand! I've had these "glasses" for ages, no their not sunglasses (I wish), or 3D glasses, but some form you wear to see an optician? Anyway, got them from my dad a while back and thought they looked pretty sweet! If I could find actually sunnies like this, it would be epic! Also, this pile of cut-offs pretty much sums up my summer attire. Hope you are having a gorgeous week lovelies, I've gotten some rest but could probably sleep straight for 2 days, geez. But I can't complain, work is great/busy & I'm super pumped that I got "eat, pray, love" (one of my fave books everr!!) for $3.50 brand spankin' new at the half off sale at VV Monday.

ITS BEEN A SUMMER

I know summer isn't over just yet, but it's ALMOST over and it really has gone by so fast! I remember telling myself at the start of summer to take full advantage of the gorgeous weather and I'm happy I have. I'm also glad I was able to attend the many summer festivals around the city, sit on the patio, as well as enjoy good company of family & friends. I'll be posting summer outfits before I get right into fall, but I've been known to wear sandals and shorts until I see frost! Anyway, I've been trying to wear every item in my closet by the end of summer and I'm half way there! Decided to go monochromatic lavender here w/my DIY bracelet. I spray painted this bad boy (H&M bracelet that was beige) & it's a brand new look! None of these items are new, and thats what's exciting about it. Try experimenting w/items you already have in your closet, instead of constantly buying new clothes. It feels great! Can we talk about the VMA's?! First of all Gaga killed it as Joe Calderone, I really like her as this alter ego actually, and Beyonce fierce as per usual preggo!!..and I'm pretty sure I'll have Adele on repeat all week!

Is the first thing that comes to mind when viewing this collection Sears? Well it should be! Jay Manuel has collaborated with Attitude at Sears to release his new line this fall. These are the outfits that stood out, but included in this luxurious collection included bold pops of colour such as orange, red and blue in tights and accessories. I like the tailored looks as well as the versatile pieces, plus it's quite affordable. I haven't shopped in Sears in ages, probably have never bought anything there since I was a child, BUT I caught myself wanting some of these items for fall/winter. Inspired by the masculine look with the jackets, but like the elegance of the faux fur. It's about time Sears collaborated with such a fashionista such as Jay Manuel, a Canadian stylist, and you probably know him from America's Next Top Model. EVERYBODY'S CHANGING

Outfit post here featuring some neon, I like this combination. I could tell you where I got these pieces, but who cares? Also, lately been really getting in to cosmic/galaxy printed items. I know, I know..this has been featured on blogs/sites before but I don't wear things because they are whats in at the moment, I wear what I like when I like it. I don't care if it's last season or "not cool", basically if I like it, no matter what the brand is, I wear it. I can't stand it when people only wear things that are "in style" and won't wear things that are "last season". I think it's all about how the individual is, I think it's annoying when people are total label whores and won't wear clothes that aren't brand named. I tend to thrift/DIY a lot and am not afraid to say that I buy some used items I make some of my clothes/accessories. Got on a bit of a rant there, but what can I say? Isn't blogging all about being individual, unique and creative? What do you think?
